On Friday, 5 June 2015, at night at around 1:00, in Kaunas, on A. Purėno street near No. 20, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Almera and an Audi 100 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Nissan (a citizen of India), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.80‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
