On Tuesday, 28 July 2015, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on Nemuno street near No. 18, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E280 and an Audi A6. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (29 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
