On Thursday, 6 August 2015, in the evening at 17:50, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 14.30), a Suzuki VZ 1600 ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 33-year-old driver of the Suzuki (hospitalized) and a 32-year-old passenger of the Suzuki (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of a Nissan Terrano (35 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
