On Saturday, 28 July 2018, in the afternoon at 14:05, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 13.67), a John Deere 5090 R rolled over. Two people were injured — a 28-year-old passenger of a Toyota Highlander (treated as an outpatient) and a 31-year-old passenger of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the John Deere (19 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
