On Sunday, 16 August 2015, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių pl., at the junction with Baltų pr., a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Seat Ibiza and a Fiat Ulysse. Two people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Seat (treated as an outpatient) and a 59-year-old passenger of the Fiat (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Seat (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
