On Wednesday, 9 September 2015, in the afternoon at 14:55, in Kaunas, on Panerių street, at the junction with Varnių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Solaris Trollino 12 and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Five people were injured — a 33-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 12-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 67-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 43-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient) and a 61-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Solaris (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
