On Saturday, 17 October 2015, at night at 0:05, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on Topolių street, at the junction with Klevų street, a Volvo V70 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.17‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
