On Sunday, 18 October 2015, at night at 1:50, in Lazdijų district municipality, Paterų village, on the Leipalingis–Lazdijai–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 9.90), a Renault Trafic rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Renault (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.90‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
