On Sunday, 18 October 2015, in the afternoon at 15:28, in Tauragės district municipality, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Šilalės street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Transporter, a Volvo XC90, a Citroen C2, a Citroen C5 and a Mercedes-Benz C200 registered in Latvia. One person was injured — a 99-year-old passenger of the Volvo (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
