On Friday, 23 October 2015, in the afternoon at 14:48, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 100.35), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V50, a Toyota Corolla Verso, a Skoda Octavia, a Dodge Caravan, an Audi A6 Avant and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volvo (3 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
