On Wednesday, 4 November 2015, in the evening at 19:35, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Tvirtovės al., a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Espace and a BMW X5 3.0D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Renault, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
