On Friday, 4 December 2015, in the morning at 7:27, in Vilnius, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Gerosios Vilties street, a Renault Master hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person died — a 82-year-old pedestrian (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Renault (29 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
