On Saturday, 26 December 2015, at night at around 2:00, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 32.52), a Volkswagen Passat Variant hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy.
