On Monday, 11 January 2016, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Neringos municipality, on the Smiltynė–Nida national road (kilometre 36.30), a Renault Master hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Renault (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
