On Tuesday, 19 January 2016, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Erdvilo street, at the junction with Juodaičių street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Volvo XC90, a Mitsubishi Lancer, a Volkswagen Polo, an Audi A3 and a BMW 525 D. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 74-year-old driver of the Volvo (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
