On Monday, 25 January 2016, in the afternoon at 14:40, in Zarasų district municipality, Juodalaukių village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 178.10), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Audi 100 and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
