On Sunday, 31 January 2016, in the afternoon at 14:34, in Telšių district municipality, Tryškių town, on Lazdynų Pelėdos street near No. 26, a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
