On Monday, 13 September 2021, in the evening at 17:18, in Telšių district municipality, on the Užventis–Tryškiai–Viekšniai national road (kilometre 33.15), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Honda Jazz and an Opel. One person died — a 76-year-old passenger of the Opel (was not wearing a seatbelt). Two people were injured — the 69-year-old driver of the Honda (severely injured, hospitalized) and a 65-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Honda (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
