On Thursday, 4 February 2016, at night at 1:55, in Kėdainių district municipality, Medekšių village, on the Jonava–Kėdainiai–Šeduva national road (kilometre 24.82), a BMW 525 ran off the road. Two people were injured — a 22-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized) and a 23-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.27‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 23-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (2.22‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
