On Friday, 5 February 2016, in the afternoon at 14:30, in Šiauliai, on Varpo street near No. 11, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo and a Volkswagen Golf Plus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Volvo (15 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. She fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
