On Sunday, 7 February 2016, in the morning at 7:10, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) national road (kilometre 220.80), a BMW 325 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
