On Friday, 8 April 2016, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kauno HE–Garliava national road (kilometre 6.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525, an Opel Astra and a Volkswagen LT 35. Three people were injured — the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 33-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (11 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober.
