On Monday, 2 May 2016, in the evening at 17:01, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 58), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A8 and a Volvo S80. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Audi (16 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (2.40‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
