On Thursday, 19 May 2016, in the evening at 20:46, in Tauragės district municipality, Mažonų village, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 134), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Yamaha YZF-R6 and a Volvo XC90. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Yamaha, who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
