On Friday, 17 June 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Vidurinė street near No. 6, at the junction with Veliuonos street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Auris and an Opel Zafira. One person was injured — the 28-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the Toyota (18 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
