On Tuesday, 21 June 2016, in the morning at 5:05, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Sausio 15-osios street, a Toyota Prius hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Toyota (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
