On Monday, 27 June 2016, in the evening at 18:45, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 2.91), a Piaggio ET2 rolled over. One person was injured — a 10-year-old passenger of the Piaggio (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Piaggio (11 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs, committed other traffic rule violations and failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
