On Tuesday, 4 August 2020, in the morning at 6:57, in Šiaulių district municipality, Vijolių village, on Gintaro street, at the junction with Vilniaus street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. Two people were injured — the 33-year-old driver of the Honda (treated as an outpatient) and a 13-year-old passenger of the Honda (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Nissan (23 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
