On Sunday, 3 July 2016, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Kaunas, on M. Riomerio street near No. 37, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a moped and a Citroen C5. One person was injured — the 26-year-old driver of a moped (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of a moped (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.62‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
