On Sunday, 30 December 2018, in the morning at 8:30, in Kaunas, on M. Riomerio street near No. 5, in a yard, a Toyota Prius hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 72-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Toyota (21 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
