On Friday, 15 July 2016, at night at 0:30, in Kaunas, on Šiaurės pr. near No. 8D, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat Variant registered in Sweden and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat Variant, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
