On Friday, 22 July 2016, in the afternoon at 16:43, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 31.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 307, a BMW 525, a Fiat Stilo, a Peugeot 407 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Peugeot 307 (6 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
