On Monday, 15 July 2024, in the evening at 17:32, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 29.35), a head-on collision occurred. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk and under the influence of psychoactive substances and had no driving licence.
