On Saturday, 23 July 2016, in the evening at 19:23, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 274), a Ford Focus ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 30-year-old driver of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 22-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Ford (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
