On Sunday, 24 July 2016, in the evening at 20:10, in Klaipėda, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Baltijos pr., a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Octavia and an Aprilia SR 50. Two people were injured — a 17-year-old passenger of the Aprilia (hospitalized) and the 16-year-old driver of the Aprilia (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Skoda (11 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection and failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
