Drunk cyclist in crash with BMW on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas road
On Friday, 5 August 2016, in the evening at 19:16, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 31.95), a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a bicycle and a BMW 728. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 25-year-old cyclist, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.36‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
