On Saturday, 13 August 2016, in the evening at around 22:00, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Zanavykų street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 Avant Quattro and a Volkswagen Touareg. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Audi (27 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.48‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
