On Tuesday, 21 November 2017, in the morning at 10:32, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr., at the junction with Aukštaičių street, a Citroen Xantia hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 88-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 70-year-old driver of the Citroen (11 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
