On Wednesday, 17 August 2016, in the afternoon at 13:13, in Jonavos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 37), a Fiat Panda hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 74-year-old driver of the Fiat (42 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.23‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
