On Friday, 26 August 2016, in the afternoon at 13:18, in Palanga, on Liepojos pl., at the junction with Monciškės street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Mascott 160 registered in Latvia, a Skoda Octavia, a Nissan Qashqai and a Volkswagen Touran. Two people were injured — the 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 19-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Renault (32 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober.
