On Monday, 29 August 2016, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kaunas, on Šiaurės pr. near No. 43d, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 registered in Norway, a Volkswagen Golf and an Opel Omega. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Audi (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
