On Friday, 16 September 2016, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on Neries krant. street, at the junction with J. Vienožinskio street, a Peugeot 307 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 7-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot (8 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
