On Friday, 16 September 2016, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on Neries krant., at the junction with J. Vienožinskio street, a Peugeot 307 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 7-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Peugeot (8 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober.
