On Saturday, 12 November 2016, in the afternoon at 12:07, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 14), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-3 and a MTZ Belarus-80. One person was injured — the 59-year-old driver of the MTZ (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Saab (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
