On Tuesday, 9 March 2021, in the afternoon at 12:45, in Vilniaus district municipality, Didžiosios Riešės village, on Molėtų pl., at the junction with Medikiškių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz, a Mitsubishi Outlander, an Opel Vectra, a Volkswagen Multivan and a Koegel SN 24. Two people were injured — the 33-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and the 39-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (8 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
