On Saturday, 12 November 2016, at night at 23:58, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Vėžaičių town, on Samališkės street near No. 21, an Opel Omega rolled over. Two people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 15-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.76‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
