On Thursday, 12 August 2021, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Vėžaičių town, on Samališkės street, at the junction with Liepų street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Porsche Cayenne registered in Latvia and a Nissan Qashqai. Three people were injured — a 39-year-old passenger of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient), the 48-year-old driver of the Nissan (treated as an outpatient) and a 14-year-old passenger of the Nissan (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Porsche (40 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
