On Sunday, 4 December 2016, in the evening at 22:25, in Biržų district municipality, on the Pasvalys–Vabalninkas regional road (kilometre 24.80), a Rover 220 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Rover, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.94‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
