On Monday, 5 December 2016, in the evening at 17:05, in Kaunas, on Raudondvario pl. near No. 150, a Ford Focus hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 53-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 28-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Ford (2 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
