On Sunday, 11 December 2016, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 164.45), a collision with barriers occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Yaris registered in Germany, a Schmitz SKO 24 registered in Ukraine and a Volvo FH12 registered in Ukraine. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Toyota (47 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
