On Thursday, 15 December 2016, in the morning at 7:35, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 63.30), at a public-transport stop, a Samro hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. Two people died — a 55-year-old pedestrian and a 42-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by a 55-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway where prohibited and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
